What we love about this coffee is how it really coats your palate. We found distinct notes of orange, plum, prune and raisin. It’s brighter than before and is super juicy. There is a brown sugary character reminiscent of caramel. And with milk it’s a nougat fest!

We’re pumped to have this coffee back in the roastery. We had this coffee last year as one of our Classic releases – and it’s even better this year! We sourced this coffee through Makicuna, a small importer specialising in sourcing very high quality Ecuadorian coffees.
We were lucky enough to meet Andre, Claudia and their son Sami, when they hand-delivered the green coffee to us here at the roastery. They are based in Bristol and go to Ecuador seasonally, to visit farms. Andre is originally from Ecuador so they know the country inside out – working closely with producers, dry mills and q-graders to find the best possible coffees.
This coffee was incredible last year but when cupping it this time around it’s definitely levelled up. We asked Andre and Claudia what might have affected the coffee and they spoke with the farmer, Nelson. Whilst there was no difference in how this coffee was grown and produced, it could be down to very slight changes in the climate.
