This coffee is bound to put a smile on your face because it sure did for us. It has a super sweetness whilst also being loaded with delicate floral and fruity notes – it’s a real triumph. Earl Grey tea is the distinct note upfront, complimented by rose and bergamot, followed by a lemon/orange zest mash-up. The original character is lost when you add milk, but it makes a nice flat white. With the introduction of milk, it can be described as buttery shortbread, all rounded off with a fruity yoghurt finish.

This coffee is bound to put a smile on your face because it sure did for us. Whenever we think about Ethiopian coffee from Yirgacheffe, we think about the distinct Earl Grey note inherent in coffees from this region. This coffee has that delightful note but with so much more to offer!

Literally translated as “Land of Many Springs”, Yirgacheffe has the ideal topography, elevation, and water sources to produce and process exceptional coffees. It’s considered by many to be the birthplace of coffee. Farmers in the region are typically multi-generational small-scale landholders, sometimes farming only a few hectares. The area where this coffee was grown is known for its dense semi-forest vegetation, including Ensete trees (Ethiopian banana) and other shade plants, providing ideal conditions for shade-grown coffee.
