Rwanda Bumbogo

Love fruity coffees? This one has it all. Straight away you’re hit with vivid notes of green apple, followed shortly by a very sparkly elderflower note. It also gave us a childhood flashback of necking pints of peach ‘fruit and barley’ squash, on a hot summer's day. There’s a little hint of black tea and a bit of grapefruit. We’re pretty sure you’ll have a great time drinking this one. Something a bit strange happened with the addition of milk, it ended up tasting of English Breakfast Tea. We’d say we preferred it served without milk, but that’s just us.

We’ve got a seriously fruity one from Rwanda that’s just like serving up a bucketful of fruit salad. Just what everyone wants to hear right? There’s a lot going on with this coffee and it’s a real attack on the taste buds (don’t worry, in a good way).

We bought this coffee through Raw Material coffee importers. They operate their business in a very unique way. Rather than searching for the best coffees, they search for the right communities to work with, helping farmers to produce high-quality coffee and connecting them to stable marketplaces. This way of working has already proven very successful with positive results being achieved very quickly. For example in Timor-Leste after just one year they helped (through education) to produce a coffee that set a national record for quality.
