Brew Guide: Iced Latte

Brew Guide: Iced Latte

Don't know about you, but we struggle when the weather gets this hot. Try roasting in 27 degree heat! Man. We're not complaining though. The roastery doors are rolled open and the summer tunes are blaring for our neighbours to enjoy.

When it's sweltering outside all you want is a cold drink to help you cool off and keep you energised through that afternoon slump. We're big fans of iced filter coffee and this is our go-to in the roastery on a hot summer's day, however, we can't doubt that sometimes a classic iced latte is just what you want.

There are a few different ways we like to make an iced latte, but we certainly have a favourite that is quick and easy...

The Nespresso Iced Latte

We love the ease and convenience of pulling a Nespresso shot over ice and chilled milk for an afternoon treat. We tend to go for The Espresso Nespresso Capsules which are a better match with milk than our single origins. Pour the milk over ice first before pulling the shot straight into the glass and watch the layers form. It's a thing of beauty.

You can add sweetness in the form of honey or sugar, but if you're doing this, we recommend mixing this with the hot coffee before pouring over the milk to ensure it melts.

If you don't have a Nespresso machine, you can make an espresso shot with a home espresso machine, or a moka pot. You can try making a strong cafetiere too, but the coffee flavour may be slightly weaker, so you may want to add less milk.
