This is the second time we've seen this incredible coffee in the roastery and we're so glad it's back. It's just as sweet as we remember it.
Produced by the Betti family on their small family-run farm set in the gentle, rolling hills of Minas Gerias. With an annual production of 300 bags, Sítio Maranhão is a very small coffee farm. Contrary to popular belief, the vast amount of coffee produced in Minas Gerias comes from small, family managed farms just like Maranhão. The Betti Family's dedication to quality and sustainability has made them a well-respected and sought-after producer. Their passion for coffee shines through, and their commitment to the environment and their community has made them a valuable contributor to the local region.
This naturally processed Yellow Catuai has undergone extended fermentation before sun drying. This variety is naturally yellow in colour, meaning it absorbs less sunlight than the typical red fruiting variety – leading to a slower maturation and an intensely sweet cup.
This coffee is loaded with sweetness. Milk chocolate, dates, honeycomb and treacle. There's also a dried apricot note upfront and a soft nutmeg-like finish. It's a winner with milk.
